Our Team
After graduating from the University of Liverpool in 2011, Hamza gained experience in a variety of specialties working in both general practice and in various hospitals. He completed his MFDS qualification from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2013.
He has since completed his specialist training in orthodontics and gained his M.Orth qualification from both the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and England. He has been awarded numerous prizes including the prestigious William Houston Gold Medal for the highest performance in the Edinburgh M.Orth examination in 2016-17. Furthermore, he gained a Master of Science Degree in Clinical Orthodontics from the University of Manchester.
In addition to working at the practice, Hamza also works as a consultant orthodontist in both Manchester Foundation Trust and Stockport NHS Foundation Trust. This allows him to undertake a variety of complex treatments, continue orthodontic research and teaching as honorary member of staff for the University of Manchester. Hamza holds various dental memberships including memberships with the British Dental Association, British Orthodontic Society and he has been invited to lecture nationally for various organisations.
Hamza has gained accreditation from Invisalign and Incognito to allow him to provide a wide variety of cosmetic orthodontic treatment options including lingual orthodontics and invisible aligner treatments

Ian completed his undergraduate degree in Dentistry at Sheffield University in 2002. He then spent 12 months in General Dental Practice, followed by 12 months in a General Dentistry role at Manchester Dental Hospital. Having subsequently gained 18 months experience in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, he went on to undertake 8 months of Paediatric Dentistry. In 2006, he then commenced 5 years of specialist Orthodontic training in the West Midlands. He returned to his northwest roots in 2011 to take up the position of Consultant Orthodontist and Clinical Lead for the Orthodontics and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Department at the Trust.
Ian is an Examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Sarah qualified in Dentistry from King’s College London in 2014. She subsequently worked in Yorkshire for four years in General Dental Practice, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Paediatric Dentistry and Special Care Dentistry posts before returning to the North West and starting her postgraduate training in Orthodontics at Liverpool. She completed her Membership in Orthodontics in 2021 from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Master of Dental Science from the University of Liverpool.
Following entry to the Orthodontic Specialist list in 2021, Sarah completed an additional two years of training to gain the Intercollegiate Specialty Fellowship in Orthodontics of the Royal College in 2023 and achieved consultant status. She is currently a Consultant Orthodontist at Liverpool University Dental Hospital and Warrington Hospital.
When not at work, Sarah enjoys keeping active through hiking, fitness classes and is currently in training for the Manchester Half Marathon. She also has a keen interest in sports, particularly cricket and football.

Practice Owners
Samer qualified as a dentist from the University of Manchester Dental Hospital in 1996 and then worked in general practice for 6 years.
He gained Membership of Faculty of Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2004. Following various hospital posts Samer joined the orthodontic specialist registrar training programme in Manchester in 2005.
He completed his specialist training in 2008 and also gained a Master of Philosophy from the University of Manchester.

David qualified in 1995 from Leeds University Dental School. After various practice and hospital posts he joined the orthodontic specialist registrar training programme in Liverpool. He completed his specialist training in Orthodontics in 2003 gaining the Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the M.Dent.Sci from the University of Liverpool.
Following entry to the Orthodontic specialist list David undertook a further 2 years of training as a senior registrar to gain the Intercollegiate Speciality Fellowship in Orthodontics of the Royal College and achieve consultant status. David is currently Clinical Lead for Orthodontics at Manchester Dental Hospital. David currently teaches Orthodontics at the University Dental Hospital of Manchester and he is also an examiner for the Speciality Membership in Orthodontics (MOrth RCS) at the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

Ovais Malik is a Consultant in Orthodontics at the University of Manchester Dental Hospital and Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust. He qualified with honours as a dentist in 1996. After a variety of practice and hospital posts he joined the Orthodontic Postgraduate Training Programme at Guy’s Hospital, London. He was awarded a Master of Science Degree in Orthodontics, from University of London and awarded Membership in Orthodontics of both the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Edinburgh.
This was followed by entry onto the Specialist list in Orthodontics of the General Dental Council in 2003. Ovais was then appointed as a Senior Registrar in Orthodontics at University of Manchester Dental Hospital and Hope Hospital, Manchester. During this time he gained the Intercollegiate Speciality Fellowship in Orthodontics of the Royal College and accreditation as a Consultant Orthodontist. He is also an examiner for the Speciality Membership in Orthodontics (MOrth RCS) at the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
